Today it is Thomas Wessel-Ellermann’s turn, our Sales Director. Thomas joined our team in October.
He answered a few questions on his personality and his tasks at solvimus:
Describe yourself with a song title or a film title:
‚Again and again the sun is rising‘ by Udo Jürgens. In general, I have a positive mindset and I am aware that, even if I go to bed with the proverbial abdominal pain, a new day will begin the following day. New chances and new possibilities will arise.
Work is but half of the lifetime. What is your favorite leisure-time activity?
I strive to do sports on weekdays, be it spinning, jogging or biking. My significant other and I adore travelling and we appreciate the mountains and skiing as well as relaxing on beaches.
I prefer to spend the weekends in my beloved Erfurt. Great restaurants and wine bars abound. The Wolkim at the cathedral square is always worth a visit. 😊
Why did you decide for solvimus, and what left a positive impression at first contact?
Once I found the job ad, I started to research on the products and was thrilled when I realized how relevant and future-oriented they are. When adding to this the friendly atmosphere on a personal level at the job interviews, I was convinced: This is what I would like to strive for!
Tell us about your tasks with us! What is a typical workday for you?
There is no typical workday, and I appreciate that. I am confronted with different tasks & topics every day, resulting in daily variation. I contribute to many projects, for example statistics, quality management and the key account management.
The only thing unaltered every day: I begin by reading my e-mails.
What do you like most at solvimus? What is not so marvellous?
On the positive side: I like addressing others on a first-name basis as this brings everyone on a par. The communication within the team is great and also the atmosphere within the company.
What we have to improve or push more eagerly is the important aspect of health management. Much is being done already, but there is always room for improvement.
How do you explain your family what you are doing at solvimus?
My position is the interface between manufacturing, the directors and the clients, securing that everyone will be content in the end. My chief priority is the support of the sales team, aiming to envisage and attain the common goals. I try to make life as trouble-free as possible for my team.
What do you think do all solvimusians share?
We are interconnected by our products of superior quality and the focus that the solvimus GmbH will be and remain successful. Our close interpersonal relationships form a great team!
To sum up, how would you describe the solvimus GmbH as employer to your friends?
We are a fair, modern and employee-friendly company, putting much emphasis on every individual and a healthy work-life-balance. Everyone from the management has an open ear at any time for the needs of the solvimusians and is willing to look beyond the proverbial rim.
