After an interruption of one year and one year in digital form only, we finally convened again last Thursday (30 June 2022) – our 14th Technology Afternoon was held, under the well-known slogan “Summer, Sun, solvimus”. We were really looking forward to this event with on-site attendance, and likewise our numerous clients and any interested person.
A product workshop, intriguing presentations, interesting discussions, new impulse, many scoops of ice cream to chill and to finish, traditional Thuringian grilled specialities – that sums up our 14th Technology Afternoon in a nutshell.
We started off in the morning with a workshop and practical demonstrations to our products. The general operation of our products was demonstrated and the software highlights explained.
In addition to (w)M-Bus meters, we are now also able to read out meters via Modbus RTU and TCP. Skilfully using “Modbus Templates”, numerous meters can be created automatically, saving time in commissioning.
After a nutritious lunch, two presentation sessions were held.
Sebastian Ritter from the ifesca GmbH was first with his presentation “Forecast management for energy data in the world of Big Data”, pointing out present challenges in energy procurement and how artificial intelligence can assist there.
Thereafter, Daniel Eitdorf from Schneider Electric GmbH introduced very compact solutions for energy metering in the control cabinet.
As the sun was so kind to obey our slogan “Summer, Sun, solvimus”, we provided refreshments. The refreshment highlight was the ice-cream man Ilmenau (Eis Wagner) with his ice-cream cart.
After many scoops of ice cream, coffee and freshly made cake we proceeded to the second round of presentations.
First, Peter Scharf from PHOENIX CONTACT Deutschland GmbH revealed the possibilities conveyed by modern control and communication technology in buildings.
Jan Metzner from Hörburger AG held the final talk on cloud-based applications for energy monitoring.
After the presentations, the guests were given a tour of the company rooms. All office spaces were shown and explanations given what we focus on all day long.
The event faded out on our large, comfortable outside terrace with a buffet with Thuringian grilled specialities from the butcher Zitzmann (Erfurt), cool drinks and our “Signature Drink” in glasses branded solvimus-style orange.
Our 14th Technology Afternoon has thrilled and feedback was positive throughout. Our guests appreciated the smooth organisation, the generous and cosy rooms, the family-like and attractive atmosphere, and also the appealing presentations.
